Day 77 Thursday
Another day of resting the ankle so what better way to spend it then in the kitchen. Chocolate cake, scones and flapjacks all on the go. All of which would be packed up into boxes ready for snack food for the road trip to Namibia the following day.
Day 78 Friday
Bob, Laura, Donalyn and Ashley would be setting off that evening for Namibia where the African Championship would be. Laura and Bob will be riding Jedi and Mauser there with Donalyn and Ashley grooming for them. So my morning was spent outside trying to be helpful with packing whilst also not getting in the way.
I could not stay out of the saddle another day, so I joined Ash in riding two of the youngsters Obelix and Samrah. It was only a short ride out to check the mares, which would give me an opportunity to see how my ankle would cope with riding. It was nice to be out riding again even if we only were in walk.
That evening Team PSV left for Namibia for 2 weeks.
Day 79 Saturday
Ah the weekend time to relax, although I've been doing that all week! Horses all given lucerne, a trip into town with Lucy to do the grocery shopping and the afternoon to chill with my nose in another Elizabeth Chadwick novel.
That evening Lucy and I headed into town to catch the last of the rugby match; South Africa vs New Zealand. Nice time to be out socialising with some of the Graaff-Reinet crowd.
Day 80 Sunday
Animals all fed and watered. Time to get my head back in that book. Sat out in the African sun, trying to get some colour into my white skin. Well it worked I am a little sunburnt now.
So that is the end to my week of sat around resting my ankle. I will soooo be glad to get back into the saddle and train properly starting tomorrow!
